Last month, Elimity took part in the IAM Heliview congress in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. The event focused on how banks and other organizations can leverage digital transformation to gain control on, trust in, and usability of customer and employee related information.
Focus on security, risk & regulatory compliance
Managing who can access which data is a crucial part of security, risk and regulatory compliance. It ensures that information related to customers, prospects and personnel are always processed by the intended persons. The IAM Heliview congress allowed managers – who are dealing with identity, access, security, risk, information security and ICT – to stay abreast of trends and developments in identity & access management (IAM).
Going beyond IT to get IAM fundamentally right
According to Thomas Heyman (Elimity CTO), many attendees were present. “The IAM community was very much alive at the Heliview congress. Everyone is very motivated about getting IAM right while dealing with evolving regulatory pressures and technology evolutions. It is a challenge that clearly transcends IT. It is key to involve management and relevant business units to only expose the right people to the right data.”
A lot of work remains to be done, especially since no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approaches are currently available, says Thomas. “After all IAM i
s a relatively young domain with lots of untapped potential; I am sure that the coming years will bring exiting changes. Elimity’s two cents in this regard is its self-service analytics platform for data access management. Currently, we are rolling out our platform at several BeNeLux banks.”
